General Conference
Michael and Nicholas got the chance to attend the Priesthood session of conference at the Conference Center. Our home teacher, our former bishop and now 1st counselor in the State Presidency got the tickets for them. All the men in my family also got tickets so we joined with everyone for dinner at the Sky Box at the Gateway. It was a great evening. Nick really enjoyed it and he and Michael had a great father/son time. While they were there, I joined the girls and kids at the Children's museum at the Gateway--Carter and Mallory absolutely loved it. They also loved being with cousins. After Sunday conference, we headed for St. George--great weekend!

Pinewood Derby
(I forgot to add these photos from January:) Carter and Michael did a great job on the car. It was so cute to see them work together, deciding what to do and listening to Michael tell stories of all of his pinewood derbies. Again. . . Anyway, Carter designed the shape on paper, sanded and painted. It was even cuter to hear Michael in the garage until 1 in the morning cutting out the wood and making sure it was put together correctly. It was hard to keep Carter from playing with the car on the day of the derby--we didn't want him to break it! It was a good evening--Carter and the rest of the boys had fun and were good sports. He was thrilled with 3rd place!

SIX MONTHS! And other fun stuff. . .
March 25th--6 months old. Where has the time gone? We celebrated by taking him to his 6 mo. check with shots. What an unthoughtful thing to do! (I scheduled it for that day so I would remember it!)
You can practically hear him giggling in this photo!

Our next door neighbors gave us this excersaucer--he loved it right away. What an upgrade from Nick's when he was a baby. Thank you, Powells!

Carter's 1st Stitches
Carter fell off the neighbor's rock wall (about 8 feet!) and fell on his chin on the one small area of the lawn where there is still ice. At least he broke his fall with his hand and knee, or it would have been a lot worse. There was blood everywhere. When we used the word "stitches", he completely came un-glued--screaming, begging, pleading. . .lots of drama--but we felt like it was a pretty deep cut. I was surprised by his reaction--I thought he would think it was cool to get stitches. He shook the whole way to the ER. Once we were there, he calmed down and was great. He was freezing so I requsted a blanket while we waited for the numbing medicine to take effect--they brought him a heated blanket, which Carter absolutely loved. The Dr. had a hard time finding enough skin to stitch to--it was kind of a mess, but she managed to get 5 good stitches. Please don't look at the photos if you can't handle a little blood:

Jamie at 5 months
"Mom, I'm not really ready for this. Seriously. Plus, I feel like a dork in these shoes--I haven't seen ANYONE else wear these."

K, I guess this is fun. Mom using the camera remote:

It has happened. . .
Alright Nick, it has happened. You have outgrown your mother. It's official. Michael noticed this on February 10th, 2009. I'm still the boss.
One big Hunk of Smiles
Our neighbor commented that Jamie is "One Big Hunk of Smiles." That's pretty much how it is right now. I guess he's not stressed about the economy. One thing that is hard though, if I (or anyone else) look at him while I'm feeding him his bottle, he smiles and breaks the seal and makes it hard for him to eat. So, please don't look at him while he's eating. . .
