Christmas Day

Here are some fun photos of Christmas morning:

Waiting on the stairs before seeing what Santa brought at 7am

Nick with his new Itouch

Mallory with her new mountain bike

Carter with his new DSI

Jamie seeing his new Playmobil set

Jamie was busy for 20 minutes in his high chair with his sucker from his stockings

Jamie trying out his new bath toy

Later on in the evening, we surprised the kids with a gift from Mom and Dad-a Wii and all the accessories--pretty fun. They were shocked because they were already thrilled with what they already got! We wanted to upstage Santa because we are sick of him getting all of the credit.

Lagoon

Michael had a work party at Lagoon and it had some fun moments. I'm not going to lie and say I love Lagoon, but it was fun to see the kids having fun-what a cliche. Jamie stayed in the stroller most of the time, but he did go on about 5 rides. This first photo represents one of the funniest moments in our family's life-he was on this whale ride (by himself!) and loved it! At first! Then once the ride started he had a scared, deer in the headlights look. It made me almost cry and go rip the controls from the Lagoon guy's hand and stop the ride, but at the same time it was so funny and we were laughing so hard that we let him experience the whole thing. He started smiling again half the way through so it was all ok.

All 5 of us were leaning over the fence laughing and cheering for him-so cute! Nick, Mallory and Carter enjoyed the hour they stopped doing their rides to come participate with him.

On the Kontiki ride

Spaceships-Carter barely was little enough to go with him!

Mallory & Jamie on the Octopus ride

Mallory, Carter and Nick on the Rocket

Jamie quacking at the ducks. It was more of an "aaaaaaaaack" sound.

Jamie with his puppy backpack. Ok, It's a leash. Leashes are smart for young children in crowded places-quit judging.

Four Wheeler fun

Just having fun on a Saturday afternoon on the 4-wheelers

Mallory and our next door neighbor

Jamie's 2nd time on the 4-wheeler. The first time, months ago, he didn't like it so much. . .

Jamie's overalls

My friend Jen suggested that I take a few photos of Jamie walking in his overalls and that one would be cute in black/white. So I did it and it was cute. There is just something about babies in overalls.

1st Day of School, 2009

All ready to go in her cute shirt and favorite jeans-This is Mallory's first year on the early bus since she is in middle school now.

Nick, ready to start his freshman year (but still in Jr. High).

Older kid's bus stop-7am

Carter, ready to go with his great hair and new clothes

Elementary school kids bus stop-8am

Everybody had a great first day! Nick didn't hate all of his classes this year. He enjoyed Seminary (first year) and liked his geometry teacher which is very refreshing. The other classes were ok and he transferred into Advanced P.E. for his advisory elective class, which you can see is a good thing because in his words, "I didn't even sign up for the stupid computers!" (The computer class was originally on his schedule.)

Mallory loved middle school! Kind of scary to be starting that kind of schedule when you are only 11 but she's eating it up. What a relief!

Carter loves his new teacher and is motivated to be a great kid! No pulling cards!

FUN FUN FUN but to be honest with you, pretty sad.

Cute baby stuff

It's fun to watch Jamie in his little "safe zone" area. Here are a few things he likes to do:

Listening to Mallory's Ipod

Reading his large ducky book

Just drinking his bottle with his cute curls

Pretty fascinated with Carter's hovercraft

Cool colors

I couldn't resist taking pictures of Jamie in this shirt-it was begging to be photographed with a grass background in the afternoon sunlight. What a handsome kid.

Carter in Football

I would have never guessed Carter to be a football player! He's too skinny! I was laughing pretty hard when I saw his little body under the pads, so I had to take photos! It turns out that he is pretty dang good--he is a wide receiver, running back and sometimes the quarterback-pretty much when they want some speed! He is also very aggressive when it comes to tackling. At the football camp with the High School team, he was so aggressive that it was making all of the seniors laugh pretty hard-he just knows how to unleash his power and channel it. Good job bud!

He's so skinny you can see his ribs

Alright, now he looks respectable

Park City, 2009

Another great week in Park City. We did a lot of swimming, biking, running, hiking, lifting weights (Nick-for football) Mountain Coastering, Alpine sliding and eating yummy stuff. Every year we get a huge box of creamies and we don't have a hard time finishing them. Plus, the Cafe Rio and Panda Express. Michael also took me on a special date to Baja Cantina, another tradition. My parents also visited and we went on a hike with them. Nick helped carry him when Michael needed a break. Here are some fun photos of the hike:

Of course we had to have the whiffle ball game and I had to get the annual pictures in the tree photos:

The kids were so much help with Jamie-Mallory snuggled him to sleep!
