Uh Oh on the thumb. . .who knows where this will lead but he doesn't like the binky very much (we have to hold it in his mouth if he uses it) and he loves his hands. If he's like Nick, he will be sucking his thumb. Oh well, he can do anything he wants.
Lots of people comment or ask about a baby with older kids. Believe me, it is dang fun! But these next two photos show how special it is to see the children that you love showing love to the baby you love! Nick, Carter and Mallory are so wonderful with the baby--they all love him in their own ways. Nick has never declined an opportunity to hold or take care of him, Carter always plays with him (sometimes we have to remind Carter that Jamie is not an action figure and please Carter could you please stop trying to position his arms in ways that he can't bend?), but Mallory has a special mothering touch that is literally beautiful to watch. She can hold him in "just that way" and calm him down. He's starting to reach for her--he doesn't even do that for his mother!
Ok, baby invention of the decade: BUMBO chairs! They are like a little "lap"--soft, cushiony and supportive. If you don't have one or have never seen one, they are awesome! They sort of "hold" the baby and give them support to let them sit 2-3 months before they are developmentally able to on their own, plus they are a great chair when they are older babies. I knew these existed before we got it (Michael has them at the center and recommends them for babies with special needs for sitting and balance) and planned on getting one soon but I could see that he seemed to want to be in a sitting position so I was anxious to try it out earlier (he was a little over 3 months). He loves it! He doesn't last a long time, but when he goes in at first, you can sort of sense that he is proud of himself and likes the independence until he just gets too tired. Plus, he looks halarious in it. (Great baby gift for anyone who is going to be attending a shower soon!) No, I am not a BUMBO chair spokesperson--just love to pass on recommendations of things I love.

He is dang cute. It is pretty sad when we live next door and I havent seen him in so long! I love, love the pics with Mallory. It seriously made me tear up! AHH...the blessed Bumbo! You know the funny thing is I was just about to see of you wanted ours! It still looks like new but it is purple. I am always just a little too late!
Oh, he looks adorable in his Bumbo. Love the bumbos. Wyatt's legs were a little too fat for it though. Your kids look like they are an awesome help with Jamie. Carly just told me she loves the name Jamie.
seriously, these pics are making me wish we could have one more! sooooo cute! Bring the Bumbo to St. George! Are we on?
OH my gosh Mallory is going to be the best big sis EVER!! I was that old when my mom had my bro and it was so fun. She's old enough that she will remember everything. I remember dressing my brother and just dumb things I wouldn't have remembered had I been older!! SO cute!! I LOVE IT ALL!!
Okay so as far as the smile being a great reward I am totally in agreement. It just makes my day to talk to such a sweet little baby and have him give you this sweet, innocent, ear to ear smile.
OMG, I love that little chair. I have never seen one before. I'm not up on baby gadgets now that my kids are teens;)
Love the picture of Mallory with Jamie. I was older (10) when my brother was born. I loved holding him, playing with him, etc. Than he turned 6, and I turned 16, and he was the biggest pain;) I hope Mallory remembers how sweet he is when she is 16, and is going on a date, and the little brother is teasing her;);)
He is so cute! I found your blog off of Kristy's I hope you don't mind if I peek at it sometimes :) I love the picture with Mallory also, that is so precious! Cute Family and fun blog :)
Hi Megan, I can't believe how old your baby is already!! He is adorable, and I love the BUMBO chair as well. We had one for charlie and he loved it.
Darling, darling boy you have! The love of the big kids to the baby is so endearing. I love that he reaches for Mallory. And I know what you mean about "he can do anything he wants." So true. I got upset last night with Sam because his "no no" was a little stern to Owen. The only thing poor Owen had done was hit Sam in the forehead with a block. Three separate times. I know, Sam should be a man about it, right? Thanks for sharing the sweetness.
